Avogadro's law states that under the same conditions of temperature and pressure, equal volumes of gases contain an equal number of molecules. This means that the molar volume of a gas is constant, and that the volume of a gas is directly proportional to the number of moles of gas present. Avogadro's law can be used to determine the molar mass of a gas, or to calculate the number of moles of gas present in a given volume.
