Frequently Asked Question

Questions asked by users might not always be phrased in the clearest way.

Does heptane evaporate at atmospheric pressure, at 20 c?

Accepted Answer

Heptane's boiling point is 98.4 °C. At 20°C, it would be below its boiling point and therefore exist as a liquid. However, it would still evaporate, albeit slowly, due to its vapor pressure.
