Frequently Asked Question

Questions asked by users might not always be phrased in the clearest way.

H2O and o2 reaction

Accepted Answer

The reaction between H2O (water) and O2 (oxygen) is not a typical chemical reaction. Water is already fully oxidized, meaning it cannot be further oxidized by oxygen. However, under extreme conditions, like very high temperatures and the presence of a catalyst, water can decompose into hydrogen and oxygen. This process is called electrolysis.
