Questions asked by users might not always be phrased in the clearest way.

Structure of the salt formed form sulphuric acid and p-aminobenzoic acid

Accepted Answer

Sulphuric acid (H₂SO₄) is a strong acid, while p-aminobenzoic acid (H₂NC₆H₄COOH) is a weak acid. When they react, the stronger acid (H₂SO₄) will protonate the weaker acid (p-aminobenzoic acid) forming the p-aminobenzoic acid cation (H₃NC₆H₄COOH⁺) and the sulfate anion (SO₄²⁻). The salt formed will be p-aminobenzoic acid sulfate, which is a white solid. The structure of the salt is as follows:
H₃NC₆H₄COOH⁺ SO₄²⁻
