Sulfur (S) in its intermediate oxidation states are more likely to disproportionate. This is because they can be both oxidized and reduced. For example, sulfur in the +4 oxidation state (as in SO2) can be oxidized to the +6 state (as in SO3) or reduced to the -2 state (as in H2S).
