Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC) is a technique that measures the difference in heat flow between a sample and a reference as a function of temperature. The basic principle of DSC is to heat both the sample and the reference at a constant rate while monitoring the temperature difference between them. When the sample undergoes a physical or chemical change that absorbs or releases heat, the temperature difference between the sample and the reference will change. This change in temperature difference can be used to calculate the heat flow into or out of the sample.
