What do you know about activation of TLC lates

Accepted Answer

TLC (Thin Layer Chromatography) plates are activated to remove residual water and other contaminants which can interfere with the chromatography process. The activation process can be achieved by heating the plates in an oven at 110-120 °C for 30 minutes or by placing them in a desiccator over anhydrous calcium chloride for several hours.
