Explain why dashes and wedges are not drawn for sp2 hybridised compounds

Accepted Answer

sp2 hybridized carbons have a trigonal planar geometry. This means all three bonds around the carbon are in the same plane. Since all the bonds are in the same plane, we don't need to use dashes or wedges to indicate their relative positions in space. We simply draw them as a flat structure.
