So im making methyl cinnamate from cinnamic acid and methanol using sulfuric acid as the catalyst. i want to use a drying agent during the esterification so the reverse reaction cannot occur. im currently using sodium sulfate but i recently learned that it doesnt work as well under high heat. im also remove silica gel because it is annoying to work with.
Accepted Answer
